Scotland has almost 1,000 children, hidden away for the public eye, in residential schools – removed from their own homes either for their own protection or because of they have been deemed out of control.  Now for the first time ever, a camera crew has been allowed access to one of these establishments, Ballikinrain. Produced for BBC Scotland, this moving 2 part series charts the progress of 5 boys over the course of a year and provides a rarely seen glimpse into a remarkable institution and the people who live and work there.
