Special People

Jasper: the egotistical director who never quite lived up to his potential.

Dave: the wide-boy who’s in a wheelchair after crashing a stolen car.

Anais: Middle-class girl with an unrequited crush on Dave.

Jess: stroppy lass who fictionalises her life so that Jasper can make her a star.

Scott: his obsession with documentaries leads to constant bickering with Jasper.

Reeling from the loss of his fiancée, Jasper gets a job teaching a group of teenage wheelchair users how to make a movie. Jess’ lies lead the group to set out on a quixotic location shoot in the mountains. As Jasper tries to inflict his brand of ‘social realist’ filmmaking, Scott decides to make his own ‘unmaking of’ documentary chronicling the disastrous project.
