Post World War II Europe: filmmakers Joris Ivens and Marion Michelle travel through Eastern Europe making a film about people, new life and hope.

The present: Valentin Valchev sets out through post-Communist Eastern Europe, having promised 93-year old Marion Michelle to revisit the places she had filmed 60 years earlier.

A modern filmmakers’ examination of what it means to make films in Europe, then and now, and how film can be used to engage with people.
