Fordson
Producer: North Shore Films
Director: Rashid Ghazi
Run time: 54 and 98 minutes
Production year: 2011
Fordson follows an Arab-American high school football team from Dearborn, Michigan, and unearths the story of a community still struggling to gain acceptance in post 9-11 America in the decade after the attacks occurred.
The film begins on September 11th, 2009 and is set at the historic Fordson High School, built by Henry Ford in 1922. It was once 100% white, but now boasts a 98% Arab population.
Through the eyes of the team, their families, and fans, we get an unprecedented glimpse inside the lives of a community that is home to the largest concentration of Arabs in any city outside of the Middle East, and their determination to hold onto their shared belief in the American Dream.
