Eat the Sun
Producer: Sorcher Films
Director: Peter Sorcher
Run time: 55 and 73 mins
Production year: 2010
Eat the Sun is the fascinating story of one man’s journey into the little-known world of sungazing - a growing worldwide practice that encourages practitioners to stare directly at the sun to derive physical or spiritual energy and replenishment.
Sungazers claim a multitude of health benefits including better eye sight, enhanced vitality, weight loss and, in a few startling cases, a total lack of the need for food.
Enter Mason, a winter-sports lover on a cross-country adventure that links him with a variety of colourful sungazers. Mason is driven to find a higher-calling, and thinks this mysterious practice could be the key. Discovering a sungazing spiritual guru, Mason attempts to gaze at the sun for an astounding 44 minutes a day.
He’s feeling more energised, more alive, and on the brink of something magical… but is there something else going on that he can’t see with his own fixated eyes?
