Bhopali

Bhopali

Bhopali examines the lingering aftermath of the world’s worst industrial disaster - the 1984 Union Carbide gas leak in Bhopal, India. Thousands were killed and up to half a million suffered severe illness. Twenty-six years later the suffering continues - and for the victims, justice has yet to be served. Today, there are still over 100,000 chronically ill people while 30,000 people living in the region have no choice but to drink contaminated water.

Set against a backdrop of high stakes activism, global politics and human rights advocacy, Bhopali presents a modern portrait of shattered lives and explores the victims’ ongoing fight for justice and corporate responsibility.
