Award-winning documentary filmmaker, Susan Smiley is the producer, director and writer of Out of the Shadow, her first independently produced feature documentary. Prior to making this film, Susan produced and directed documentaries for Discovery Channel, History Channel, Sci Fi Channel, MTV and the Frontline series on PBS. Her films tend to explore the lives of everyday heros and risk takers from the ice road truck drivers who drive their big rigs over frozen lakes in the Arctic (Ice Road Truckers, THC) to de-miners seeking to find and destroy land mines across Bosnia (Minesweepers, THC). After making films about other people for many years, Susan decided it was time to seek out the most dangerous territory of all - her own family's secret struggle in dealing with her mother's schizophrenia. Out of the Shadow has had a tremendous impact on mental health communities nationwide. Susan is currently in production on her next film, a documentary about mentally ill teenagers caught up in Los Angeles County’s criminal justice system.

BUSINESS PROFILE:
Sofia Smallstorm is a former magazine editor, book doctor and fiction writer whose first contribution to the 9/11 movement was a 3-minute Internet Flash moviein 2004 that traveled the globe. This gave birth to a live presentation of video evidence entitled "911 Mysteries," performed with Brad Waddell at the Met Theatre in Hollywood, California. Nationwide requests for a DVD of the show resulted in the creation of "911 Mysteries Part 1: Demolitions," released in September 2006, a 90-minute film setting the facts of science against the official story of the 'Twin Towers' collapse. The first 9/11 documentary written, directed and narrated by a woman, "911 Mysteries" is fast gaining ground as one of the movement's strongest tools, with well over a million Internet downloads in its first few months. It will be followed by "Part 2: Hijackers and Planes" and "Part 3: Who Benefits."

James Dalessandro was the founder of the now-legendary Santa Cruz Poetry Festival, with Ken Kesey, Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Charles Bukowski, which, for four years was the nation's largest literary festival. He is the author of four books: Canary In A Coal Mine (poetry), Bohemian Heart (mystery novel) Citizen Jane (true crime) and the best selling 1906: A Novel. The latter captures the last week of the great city of San Francisco during the 1906 earthquake and fire, and is schedule for a production as a major Warner Brothers Film in 2007, based on Mr. Dalessandro's book and screenplay.
