More4 Acquires The Invention of Dr. NakaMats

UK diginet More4 has acquired single documentary The Invention of Dr NakaMats to air on its True Stories strand.

The film looks at Nakamats, a famous 79-year-old Japanese inventor with more than 3,400 patents, and will air October 5.

The doc had its European festival debut at IDFA in Amsterdam, and has also been acquired by YLE Finland, Planete France, TVP and Canal Cyfra Poland, VRT Belgium, DBS Israel, Dr Denmark, ERR Estonia, TV Slovenia, TV1 Indonesia, Irib Iran, Hubu Media China and British Airways.

The latest deal was signed by Anna Miralis, More4’s editor, and Tim Sparke, CEO of distributor MercuryMedia. Sparke said: “Director Kaspar Astrup Schröder has succeeded in creating a humorous film which appeals across the world. Winning a coveted slot on True Stories demonstrates his storytelling talent.”
