Mercury teaches Lesson Plan

MIPCOM NEWS: UK documentary distributor Mercury Media International has chalked up worldwide sales for its film Lesson Plan: The Story of The Third Wave.

ABC in Australia; Rialto in New Zealand; Knowledge Network in Canada; History Channel in Spain and Portugal; Swedish Educational Broadcasting; YLE Teema in Finland; Planete in Poland; DBS and IBA in Israel; and Al-Jazeera in Turkey have all signed up.

The historical film from State of Crisis Productions (55′/76′) focuses on a 1967 US high school class experiment in fascism that spiralled out of control. It was co-directed by Philip Neel, one of the original members of the class, and David Jeffery.

In 2011, the film picked up a Cine Golden Eagle Award and Best Feature Length Documentary at the Chicago United Film Festival.

Mercury CEO Tim Sparke commented: “This historical film clearly resonates with audiences today. It’s salutary message should be on the EPG curriculum globally”.
