Bilal Wins Golden Lotus Award at Indian National Film Awards

MercuryMedia title Bilal has been awarded the prestigious “Swarna Kamal” (Golden Lotus Award) at the National Film Awards in New Delhi. The award was presented to director Sourav Sarang by the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil.

The Best Film award was shared with “The Postman” in the non-feature film category. The producer and director of each will get the Swarna Kamal and a prize of Rs 75,000 each.

The National Film Awards is the most prominent film award ceremony in India. Established in 1954, the Government of India conceived the ceremony to honour films made across India and to encourage the furthering of Indian art and culture.
